A WRITING ROOM

The client for this project had two requirements: first, create a space for an antique automobile; second, create a space where one can write. The first is straightforward; the second is not. Writing requires a certain type of space - informed, curated, and quiet. The addition is deferential to the scale of its neighboring form and respects the setting in which it resides.

Between edits, musings, and writes and rewrites, the author must have a release. In this case, it's a few measures carefully wrapped out on a vintage drum set or a sip from an extensive Scotch whisky collection.
